Dr. Dinesh K. Singal graduated from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for his medical school, one of the top medical schools in India. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training and served as Chief Resident of a New York Medical College affiliated residency program in 1988. He then completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Michael Reese Hospital in 1990 and went on to complete a year of Interventional Cardiology at Rochester General Hospital (University of Rochester) in 1991. Dr. Singal has been serving the Central New Jersey area in private practice as an interventional cardiologist since 1991 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology. In June 2006 he founded the Heart & Vascular Center of New Brunswick to bring a different dimension to Cardiac and Vascular care in the community. The practice changed its name to Cardio Metabolic Institute to highlight the link between cardiac and metabolic disorders and have an emphasis on prevention, wellness, research and education. He has been voted as a ‘Top Doc’ by NJ Monthly magazine and hosts a medical program on EBC radio (1170 AM) in Central New Jersey where he hosts different members of the medical community to speak to different health topics.
Dr. Singal is incredibly active in the medical community, having served as the Acting Chief of Cardiology at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick from 1998-2000 as well as serving as the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Saint Peter’s since 1998. He led the establishment of the peripheral angioplasty program at Saint Peter’s and in 2007 established the Primary PCI (emergency angioplasty) program at Saint Peter’s. He currently serves on several committees at the hospital and is a past President of the Medical and Dental Staff at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. He is an attending cardiologist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and University Medical Center at Princeton.
