water
1⁄2 teaspoon
ground cloves
1⁄2 teaspoon
ground allspice
1 teaspoon
arrowroot (optional)

Cups

Instructions

Place the berries and spices in a pan. Add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Cook covered over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally; reduce heat when bubbling.

If using arrowroot, mix equal parts cold water and arrowroot in a small bowl, stir until all of the arrowroot is disolved. Pour it in into the pan to thicken the sauce. Remove from heat and serve.
